Bio

After receiving a profound healing from a skilled therapist many years ago, I learned how the power of massage can transform the body, mind and spirit. This experience ignited in me a passion to learn the work, and a desire to bring such well-being to others.

My initial training took me to Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2001 where I studied the art of traditional Thai massage with master teachers for two years. I returned to the US and attended The New Mexico School of Healing Arts, receiving a diploma in 2003.

My bodywork has been deeply informed by the integration of east and west traditions. Deep tissue muscle release combined with Thai stretching techniques open up energy blocks, promote flexibility, and bring the body to an overall sense of balance. Through my ability to listen to the body, I create a treatment that’s needed in the moment. My massage has been described as “relaxing, yet energizing”.

During my decades of practice I have massaged people of all ages, with many different needs. I’ve also completed many hours of continuing education in various modalities, including: reflexology, pregnancy massage, myofascial release, hot stone therapy, sports massage, Traeger therapy, and aromatherapy, and I incorporate these in my work.

My roots on Orcas Island go back thirty years, and it has been an honor to serve in this community, and now it is a privilege to continue my work at the Healing Arts Center which has been a beacon of nurture and healing for decades. I am currently accepting new clients on Friday and Saturday.
